Detroit Tigers cut 13 players from big-league camp

The Detroit Tigers made their second round of cuts just over a week into the month of March, removing thirteen players from big-league camp.

Tuesday afternoon, Detroit announced a second round of players being sent to minor league camp. The first cuts made last week included only two players – righty Beau Burrows and outfielder Jake Robson – but this group was much more extensive.

Here’s the complete list.

Optioned to Triple-A Toledo: SS Sergio Alcantara, OF Daz Cameron, RHP Kyle Funkhouser, OF Derek Hill, IF Isaac Paredes, RHP John Schreiber

Optioned to Double-A Erie: RHP Anthony Castro

Optioned to High-A Lakeland: RHP Franklin Perez

Returned to Minor League Camp: C Cooper Johnson, RHP Gerson Moreno, C Jhon Nuñez, RHP Wladimir Pinto, LHP Joey Wentz

There are now 54 players remaining with the Tigers in big-league camp.
