It’s that time of year where we look back on some of the best Detroit Tigers’ Plays of 2021.

From robbing home runs, walk offs and historic milestones, the Detroit Tigers had a highlight reel heavy season.

Let’s look back at the top five plays of the year.

AKIL BADDOO STUNS HUNTER DOZIER

Not only were fans pleased with this catch, Akil Baddoo seemed to surprise himself when he swindled Kansas City Royals Hunter Dozier of a home run that could have changed the trajectory of the game in the Royals favor.

VICTOR REYES TRIPLES… TWICE

I never thought I’d be typing “Victor Reyes” and “Best Plays” this much in the same article, but this clip is deserving of the mention, especially for such a unique play. Duking it out against the Boston Red Sox, switch-hitter Reyes dominated this game by tacking on two triples, from both sides of the plate.

VICTOR REYES INSIDE-THE-PARK HOME RUN

It’s clear Reyes showed up to play this year, and he had several noteworthy moments worth writing about. This inside-the-park home run against the Toronto Blue Jays is undoubtedly one of the best plays of his 2021 season.

DEREK HILL DIVING CATCH

It appears a lot of the best plays for the Tigers are against the Blue Jays. This stellar catch from Derek Hill even had Kevin Smith in awe. Hill had plenty of highlights reel worthy plays in 2021, but this one takes the crown.

SPENCER TURNBULL NO-HITTER

Nothing brings me more joy than seeing a pitcher have complete control over a game, and Spencer Turnbull was electric. With the final out against Seattle Mariners Mitch Haniger, Turnbull silenced Mariners’ fans with the Tigers eighth no-hitter in franchise history and added to the fifth no-hitter of the Major League season.

The no-no takes the top spot for Best Plays of 2021.
