Jim Bowden is the gift that keeps on giving. On one hand, it speaks to the state of baseball content creation when a failed general manager gets dubbed as an MLB insider, especially when you consider the fact that Bowden hasn't been at the top of a front office since 2009. Nonetheless, he has multiple platforms to further prove why he is no longer in charge of a baseball team. And if you're too young to realize how bad he was as a general manager, look no further than his "creative" trade idea between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Detroit Tigers.

Now, even Bowden has the baseball brain cells to realize that if the Tigers were to trade Tarik Skubal, the Dodgers would be the logical suitor. The Dodgers have a healthy amount of pitching prospects and position-player prospects that would instantly restock the Tigers' farm system.

But during his latest appearance on Foul Territory, Bowden offered a "creative" idea that sounds completely unhinged. In Bowden's world, there is a scenario where the Dodgers could send veteran starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow to the Tigers as part of their trade for Skubal.

Jim Bowden reminds Tigers fans why he is out of baseball with his 'creative' Tarik Skubal trade pitch that is bonkers

And, to be clear, Bowden isn't just out of baseball because of his bad moves as a general manager; he was tied to a probe investigating members of the Nationals' front office for potentially skimming from their bonus pool money. In other words, Bowden being "creative" often doesn't match anything that should actually happen in baseball.

A broken Glasnow would be a hilarious return for the Tigers to get for arguably the best starting pitcher in baseball. When Glasnow is healthy, he certainly has been the top-of-the-rotation starting pitcher the Tigers would need if they were to trade Skubal, but he has only made 20 starts in a season twice in his career.

Not to mention, Glasnow is owed $63 million over the next two seasons with a $30 million club option for 2028. The only real incentive the Dodgers would have for including Glasnow in a trade would be to find a taker for his contract, and that certainly isn't the business the Tigers are usually in.

That being said, the Tigers can put an end to all of this nonsense and simply pay Skubal like the pitcher who just won two consecutive Cy Young awards. Bowden would then move on to his next awful idea, but Tigers fans would have their ace for the long term.
