Detroit Tigers promote Max Clark to Single-A.

The Detroit Tigers may be busy with their own big league roster, but that did not stop the front office brass from making a big move from down on the farm. Further than Toledo and Erie, but down in the Sunshine State, where, they opted to promote one of their 2023 draftees.

Not just any draftee, their third-overall draft pick, Max Clark, who has begun his career with the team out on the backfields. He had shown some things to be excited about as well, being able to find some barrels and settle into wearing a big-league affiliate uniform.

After all, the topic of discussion being Clark's hot bat was something recently broached on Motor City Bengals as his early start had started to catch some attention. For the Tigers, their concern with Clark and his development path may not be the biggest concern; it's still good to see him moving up the ranks already.

As the season's winding down, this is likely a good opportunity to bump up Clark and see what he can do at the Single-A level, moving off the backfields at Joker-Merchant Stadium and getting out onto Publix Field.

Clark will join the Lakeland Flying Tigers after this move, which is certainly exciting for their 2023 draftee after being selected as one of the top prep players in the entire country during this year's First-Year Amateur Player Draft.

During his time playing in the complex league, he was able to log 12 games played with the FCL Tigers. He accumulated 46 at-bats with a .283/.411/.543 slash line. He also has four doubles, a triple, and two home runs, tallying 12 RBI to his credit.

Clark managed nine walks to ten strikeouts, doing a good job working at-bats and keeping the punchouts down. Indeed, it was an excellent start to Clark's career as part of the Tigers organization. He finished his stint in the FCL with a .324 BABIP as well, showing that he's doing damage when he gets the bat on the ball and puts it in play.

The Tigers will get a chance to see how Clark stacks up at the next level. He'll be able to get his chances with the Flying Tigers and get his feet wet with the next level of the Tigers organization. On top of that, it could help the Tigers determine a better plan of attack for Clark's development moving forward.
