Detroit Tigers insane injury luck continues as Reese Olson leaves game vs. Rangers

The Detroit Tiger' ridiculously bad injury luck strikes again.

The Detroit Tigers have had to reach into the depths of their minor leage system and do multiple bullpen days per week because of all the injuries to their pitching staff. They had two more injuries in Monday's game with both Matthew Boyd and Will Vest being placed on the IL on Tuesday, with Boyd having Tommy John surgery. Well, you can add another injury to that list.

Reese Olson was struck in the leg by a comebacker in the second inning of Thursday's game against the Rangers. He went down in pain immediately. He tried to walk it off, but he was removed from the game. Tyler Holton entered the game in relief.

This is just cruel at this point. What have the Tigers done to anger the baseball gods so much? This is two years in a row with just horrible injury luck. They have to be the most snakebitten team ever.

Below is a list of starting pitchers on the IL for the Detroit Tigers, with the exception of the recently returned Matt Manning:

That could end up being EIGHT (8) starting pitchers on the injured list all at once. Just unreal.

The good news is Tarik Skubal, Eduardo Rodriguez, and Beau Brieske will all be back soon, so that'll alleviate some stress. But the Tigers were supposed to have a bullpen day on Saturday in Colorado, and now they basically have to have one today. After having one on Monday. This isn't sustainable.

One would hope the injury luck isn't sustainable either, but we said the same thing at the end of last season, and look well that turned out. It's just unbelievable.

I have no more words for this. It's just insane. I've never seen anything like this.
