Detroit Tigers end up with Max Clark in latest mock draft results.

The Detroit Tigers have the third overall selection in this summer's draft, meaning they will likely have their pick of the litter once Dylan Crews and Paul Skenes come off the board 1 & 2. There's plenty of time for things to change and plenty of mock drafts yet to come, but let's look at one of the latest ones.

Perfect Game's Scouting staff got together and drafted through the first two rounds (including Compensation rounds); the Detroit Tigers had their first three picks made as part of this. Their piece talking through the mock draft choices offers a better look at who the scout acting as the Tigers GM selected.

But, when it comes to the Tigers' pick at third overall. The big names still on the board were Florida outfielder Wyatt Langford, Indiana prep outfielder Max Clark, North Carolina prep outfielder Walker Jenkins, and Ole Miss shortstop Jacob Gonzalez.

That is assuming they will not take a pitcher unless Paul Skenes is available, but Chase Dollander could still be in the mix if the team projects on him after a tough spring from the Tennessee Volunteers right-hander.

The Perfect Game Mock Draft from their "Scouts get to play GM" edition has the Tigers ending up with Max Clark. The Franklin High School (IN) outfielder who is committed to play for Vanderbilt. Though, the chances he gets to campus are meager. He's regarded as one of the top two offensive prep players in the class between him and Walker Jenkins.

Clark is in the conversation to be the top prep player off the board in 2023, and in this rendition of a mock draft, he was. He's 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, with some strength that he's worked to improve upon in an extremely athletic build.

He profiles as a centerfielder at the next level and will likely be a darn good one too. He can run down balls in all parts of the park, looking like he's gliding in the outfield. The ability to record outs and keep the ball off the grass is certainly enticing.

He swings it from the left side with a clean operation in the batters' box, being able to mash against the prep talent. He's got potential for budding power that could be an excellent addition to his 5-tool profile that's nearly above-average in all facets.

It's hard for me to see the Tigers leaving Langford on the board. Passing on Langford for Clark would be a miss in my book. Frankly, I'd prefer the Tigers grab Jenkins over Clark if they are going to go with the prep bat to start things off in their draft class.

There's plenty of time left, and mock drafts will continue pouring in, but one of the first mocks of the spring has the Tigers grabbing Clark with the third overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft.
