Pitchers and catchers report for spring training this week for the Detroit Tigers

Football season is over. The Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl champs. That can only mean one thing—baseball season. The Detroit Tigers are going to be playing baseball again soon.

Pitchers and catchers that are not participating in the World Baseball Classic must report to camp by Feb. 15—this Wednesday. Everybody else must report by Feb. 20. We did a whole rundown of important spring training dates to remember last week if you want to check that out. Baseball is back, baby.

Some players have already reported to Lakeland to get some early workouts in. Evan Petzold of The Detroit Free Press posted this photo of Matthew Boyd, Jake Rogers, and pitching coach Chris Fetter chatting it up.

You can expect much more of this kind of content as the week goes on. Petzold has posted a few other photos if you want to scroll through his Twitter page.

You can also expect the Tigers social media team to post some fun content as well. Keep an eye on their Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube pages. They always do a really nice job hyping up spring training, and I'm sure this year will be no different.

There are also going to be some interesting position battles as the spring goes long. Later this week we'll post an article detailing some of the most intriguing ones. We have other spring training content on the way as well.

Baseball is officially back, ladies and gentleman. We waited a long time to get to this point, but here we are. It's a new era of the Detroit Tigers baseball. This first year may not be very fun, but you never know. They play the games for a reason.
