For a period of time, all Tigers fans really had to look forward to was the MLB draft, a sad commentary on the franchise during a lengthy rebuild.

Several years of highly touted draftees failing to live up to expectations later, it's uncertain if Tigers fans even have that. Nonetheless, the 2024 draft is upon us, and we must all hope things go better under the oversight of Scott Harris than they did under Al Avila.

The 2024 MLB draft will again be held during the All-Star Break this year, beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday night and continuing both Monday and Tuesday afternoons.

2024 MLB Draft position and bonus pool: Where do the Tigers pick?

The Tigers pick 11th in the 2024 MLB draft thanks to a better finish in the standings last season and a small bit of bad luck in the draft lottery that saw them fall from 10th to 11th. They'll have $11,921,800 to spend on draftees in the bonus pool, per MLB.com.

High school left-handed pitcher Cam Caminiti has been a popular pick for the Tigers in mock drafts, including Jonathan Mayo's at MLB Pipeline, Keith Law's at The Athletic ($), Kiley McDaniel's at ESPN ($), and Carlos Collazo at Baseball America ($). The name that frequently comes up alongside him is that of high school shortstop/outfielder Konnor Griffin.

The Tigers have the 49th pick in the second round, as well as the 72nd pick overall in the Competitive Balance Round B.

They will pick 85th overall in Round 3, 114th overall in Round 4, and 147th overall in Round 5. They will have the 14th pick each round for all remaining rounds.
