Spring training can be the scene of some unusual sights. Programs are certainly needed, as even the most up-to-date Detroit Tigers fan may not be aware that the one player from that one team who had success that one season that one time ... is now a Tiger.
Once the household names on the roster exit the game and presumably leave the field, spring training games turn into one of the most adventurous forms of people watching. Most fans are on vacation, and at least one Cleveland Guardians fan made a questionable wardrobe choice.
"There's victory in the little things" can certainly be a way to describe the mindset of a Guardians fan. The Guardians currently have the longest World Series drought in Major League Baseball. It's been 77 seasons since Cleveland last won the title, and it's why they have to celebrate the things that, otherwise, hold no consequence.
For example, one of the giveaways for the Guardians this season is a Rajai Davis bobblehead, celebrating his home run in Game 7 of the 2016 World Series against the Chicago Cubs. Certainly a memorable moment, but one that will just inevitably remind Guardians fans that they lost that game.
"I realize it was an iconic moment, but we didn't win," - Rizz is confused why the Guardians are giving away a bobblehead to celebrate a game they lost.

Only the most tortured of fanbases can lay claim to moments that prove to be irrelevant. Which brings us to the sights and sounds of Guardians spring training this year. Where a Guardians fan spent his actual money on a custom jersey that was meant to troll the Tigers but lacked the impact his wallet may have felt.

Tigers fans get the last laugh on Guardians fan's weak troll attempt
Suddenly, it makes sense that the most relevant thing about Cleveland's baseball history was a fictional movie. Congrats, sir, the Guardians overcoming a 15.5-game deficit to take the American League Central crown from the Tigers certainly is a moment that will now live forever in the depths of your closet ... which is likely where the rest of your Guardians' merch went after the Tigers bounced them from the playoffs in the American League Wild Card series last October.

A moment that highlights just how awful the troll attempt was: in winning the American League Central, the Guardians held home-field advantage against the Tigers, hosting all three games of the series. Not only did the Tigers go into Cleveland and take two of the three games, but the lasting image for Guardians fans in 2025 was the Tigers celebrating on Progressive Field.

Apparently, August and September baseball games mean the world to Guardians fans. Though, considering the lack of October success, it's not like their fanbase knows what true relevancy looks like.
