The Detroit Tigers had a prime opportunity ahead of them on Friday with the Orioles coming to town. Baltimore's starting rotation is not dissimilar from extras in a Benny Hill sketch and with Detroit playing well at the moment, the team could gain even more ground in the AL Central that is looking like a tough battle with the Guardians early on. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans as Friday's matchup against the Orioles was postponed due to weather in the area.
That makes the weekend a bit more of a challenge assuming there was a doubleheader over the weekend. Yes, the Tigers get a bit of extra rest with the postponement, but twin bills can be taxing on a team's bullpen especially if one of the starters exits early.
We are about to find out how Detroit will be able to weather a doubleheader, but that is exactly what is happening as the Tigers and Orioles will play a doubleheader tomorrow, April 26.
Due to the forecast of inclement weather, tonight’s Tigers-Orioles game at Comerica Park has been postponed.

Tigers game postponed Friday, to play doubleheader Saturday against Orioles
For those that had tickets to today's game, that ticket is still valid for the second game of the doubleheader tomorrow. The first game will start at 1:10 PM while the second game is currently slated for 6:10 PM.
It will be curious to see if the schedule change will alter the Tigers pitching plans for the weekend. Jackson Jobe is currently still listed as the starter of the first game of the doubleheader, but we could see some things move around before the games get started tomorrow. Keep an eye out for who Detroit names as their 27th man for the doubleheader as that could provide clues as to their pitching strategy for the weekend.
It is unfortunate that the Tigers can't play Friday night as they have been on a bit of a roll. However, if the Tigers are having to grapple with their pitching staff for a doubleheader, the Orioles are probably white-knuckling their way through it as they have some real pitching problems. In short, this weekend could still be a lot of fun if trends hold true.
