Detroit Tigers fans will be hoping for more of the same when the Tigers, currently on a two-game winning streak, head to Tampa Bay to face the Rays. Jordan Zimmermann will start.

Detroit Tigers players rebounded nicely from being swept by Cleveland by taking a brief, two-game series against the Miami Marlins.

The Tigers will look to continue the team’s winning ways when they match up with yet another Florida-based club. Detroit is in Tampa Bay to open a four-game series with the Rays. The set kicks off a road trip that also includes stops in Cleveland and Toronto.

Jordan Zimmermann will take the hill in the first game, opposing Tampa’s Jake Odorizzi. Michael Fulmer, Justin Verlander and Mike Pelfrey will all pitch in the series.

The former National has only faced the Rays three times in his career. Over those three starts, he owns a 1-1 record and a 3.06 ERA. The pitcher has also accumulated 17 strikeouts in 17.2 innings pitched versus Tampa Bay.

Only five players on the Rays’ current roster have more than four at-bats against Zimmermann. Of the five, only Curt Casali has a batting average over .250. Logan Morrison does have three home runs in his career versus Detroit’s starter, but he also owns a .238 on-base percentage lifetime against the right-hander.
