Detroit Tigers baseball returns on Saturday. The club continues the 2017 regular season at home against the Texas Rangers. Here’s what you need to know to watch.

Detroit Tigers will look to rebound on Saturday following a series-opening loss to the Texas Rangers.

Despite getting a pair of hits from J.D. Martinez, and 3.1 relief scoreless innings from Anibal Sanchez and Francisco Rodriguez, the Tigers fell 5-3.

Daniel Norris surrendered seven hits, five runs, two walks and a pair of home runs. He did strike out eight in just 5.2 frames.

The Tigers were without Victor Martinez and Miguel Cabrera, but the team put up a fight late at the dish.

A single from Jose Iglesias and a walk from Tyler Collins gave J.D. Martinez a chance to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth.

With the score at 5-2, Martinez reached on a ground ball to Elvis Andrus, as Iglesias came around to score on an error from his shortstop counterpart.

Detroit had a chance to win it on a walk-off home run, with Alex Avila at the plate and two runners on. However, the Tigers ended up dropping the contest 5-3. Despite the loss, the team showed well to fight back with the game on the line late.
