The Detroit Tigers played the Indians last night with Justin Verlander on the mound and won in the 10th inning, after a blown save by Joe Nathan, who also ended up as the winning pitcher. Miguel Cabrera came through in the top of the 10th with an RBI double to give the Tigers a shot at the series sweep this afternoon.

Max Scherzer(8-3, 3.84 ERA), the reigning Cy Young winner, is coming off one of the worst starts of his career, a 4 inning affair with 10 hits, 10 runs and a walk against Kansas City last week. This start was especially disappointing considering the Tigers’ Ace looked to be back to his Cy Young ways in the previous start, his first career complete game.
