The Detroit Tigers are just dropped three straight to the Tampa Bay Rays and look to reverse momentum back in their direction as they open a two game series against the LA Dodgers. Thankfully, with the current rotation, the Tigers will avoid facing Ace Clayton Kershaw.
Victor Martinez is out of the lineup once again.

Justin Verlander(7-7, 4.71 ERA) has had three consecutive quality start, and while has looked to struggle mightily at times in those outings, has been able to recover and give the team a chance to win. Verlander picked up a win in his last start against Oakland, pitching six innings, giving up two runs on nine hits and no walks.
While Verlander’s struggles this season have been visible to, well, everyone, and everyone has had an opinion to share, it seems as if we’re inching ever closer to the Verlander of old, and not the Verlander of the 4.71 ERA.
This will be Justin Verlander‘s first start against the Dodgers, but he is 22-2 with a 2.56 ERA in his career against the National League.
