When We Last Met
The Tigers beat the Diamondbacks last night, 4-3, on the back of a strong start by Justin Verlander, the bullpen was able to keep hold of the lead the Tigers took after a RBI single by Miguel Cabrera. Torii Hunter and Austin Jackson both homered. Joe Nathan was better, but did give up a single before closing out the game.

Starting Pitchers
Rick Porcello(12-5, 3.39 ERA) had a great outing in his last start against Kansas City. He pitched seven innings, and gave up one run on six hits and three walks. Porcello has been consistently strong throughout the season, and while he did have a bad start following his consecutive complete game shut outs, for the most part, Porcello has had every bit the breakout year people have been expecting.
Porcello has pitched one game against the D’backs, and it wasn’t pretty. He pitched five and a third, gave up five runs on eight hits and a walk.
Chase Anderson(6-4, 3.64 ERA) pitched a gem in his last start against Miami. He went six innings and gave up only one run on seven hits, two walks and eight strike outs. Anderson has never faced the Detroit Tigers.
