When We Last Met
The Detroit Tigers were blown out last night by the Twins, 20-6, with a complete implosion of not only starter Robbie Ray, but also the majority of relievers that followed him. Things got so dicey that short stop Andrew Romine pitched the eighth inning. To say the Detroit Tigers need to come out today ready for redemption against the Twins is an understatement.
Pitching Matchup & Lineup: Game 127
Buck Farmer(0-0, 7.20 ERA) was passable, doing a solid job in his first major league start last week. Farmer pitched five innings and gave up four runs on six hits and one walk. Farmer struck out four. As his last start was also his first start, Farmer has never faced the Twins.
Yohan Pino(1-5, 5.37 ERA)had a rough go of it in his last outing against Houston, giving up seven runs on seven hits in four and a third innings. Pino has never faced the Detroit Tigers.

Pitching Matchup & Lineup: Game 128
Justin Verlander(10-11, 4.76 ERA) coming off his shortest career appearance in which he went only one inning and then complained of shoulder soreness, Verlander is looking to return to the dominance of his past. This season hasn’t been a cake walk for Verlander by any stretch. He’s struggled more often than not and is undoubtedly looking to return to form after missing a start. Verlander went only one inning and gave up five runs(four earned) on four hits against Pittsburgh in his last start. Verlander is 14-8 with a 3.10 ERA against the Twins in his career.
Trevor May(0-2, 9.00 ERA) took a loss in his last start after going four and two thirds innings, and giving up three runs on seven hits and four walks. May has never faced the Detroit Tigers
