MLB Power Rankings 2015: Week 4 Detroit Tigers No. 1

Week three of the baseball season is in the books, and this is Motor City Bengals second week of power rankings.

It is a long, long, long season, and the sample size is still small, but the picture becomes a little bit clearer every week.

MCB would like readers to know that these power rankings are based on just one opinion, and the difference of opinion between readers and fans is what makes the power rankings so fun to discuss. For our list, we took into account record, strength of schedule, run differential and other human element subject matter such as injuries.

That means just because a team is on 8-2 hot streak, they don’t automatically jump to the highest spots. It’s like my high school coach always used to say, “A team is never as good as its best win, and it’s never as bad as it’s worse loss.”

Lastly, readers should know, the rankings are serious, but the comments for each team are not. There are so many baseball articles analyzing the most small details on the web, we wanted to start out the week with a little fun.

Here are MCB’s MLB Power Rankings heading into the fourth week of the 2015 baseball season.

The Orioles asked fans to stay inside the ballpark during the end of Saturday night’s game due to violent protests outside the stadium. Other teams are thinking about doing this all the time to keep fans during blowouts. (On a serious note, we hope everyone in Baltimore is ok).

It’s not that unusual for the best record in baseball to belong to New York, it’s just not usually in Flushing.

If it were any other team losing an ace like Adam Wainwright, I’d say they were done, but this is the Cardinals we are talking about. Their last championship came in 2011, and Wainwright missed the whole season.
