Despite losing their ace, David Price, and their manager, Joe Maddon, the Rays are somehow in first place. The biggest reason is Chris Archer.

Archer is 9-4 with a 2.01 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 123 strikeouts, which is tied with Max Scherzer for third-most in the league. Archer went four straight starts in April without allowing a run and then he went three consecutive outings at the end of May and beginning of June with at least 11 strikeouts.

And this success is coming at a cheaper price in daily fantasy leagues than most dominant pitcher. That shouldn’t last much longer.
