UPDATE: These are no longer rumors, the Tigers are officially in sell mode:
Detroit Tigers’ fans in the camp of “sell” might have had mixed emotions when seeing their team win for the first time in awhile because it could lure the front office into a buying mode which has been rumored. According to Jayson Stark, the team is no longer in buying mode.
"#Tigers called teams today & told them they’re “rebooting.” Will listen on Price, Cespedes etc. More to come at http://t.co/gtnhE81RUu— Jayson Stark (@jaysonst) July 29, 2015"
Stark says that the Dodgers, Cubs, Yankees, Astros and Giants are interested in David Price while the Orioles, Angels, Astros, Twins and Mets would have interest in Yoenis Cespedes. We reported earlier this afternoon that should Price be made available, and if you believe this report he has been, he will command a bidding war. This marks a departure from the team wanting to add at the deadline, but perhaps the reality of the Tigers going 5-8 since the All-Star break, 38-50 since starting 11-2 and the fact that David Price’s agent already sees his player departing has push the franchise to its senses. Could the first domino for the Tigers being falling?
Stay tuned to Motor City Bengals in what figures to be a busy couple of days.
