Fantasy Baseball: Detroit Tigers Daily Picks and Stacks for 9/13
Daily fantasy baseball owners always have a lot of information to sort through when filling out their daily lineups, but this weekend it seems like there has been twice as much.
In some cases, that has been true because with quite a few double headers and suspended games due to the weather across the country, fantasy owners have needed to view hitter’s career numbers versus two starting pitchers instead of just one. Then, owners might be faced with the tough decision of whether to buy in for a player that has great career numbers against one starting pitcher but not the other he will be facing in the other part of the double header.
That, however, shouldn’t be too much of an issue on Sunday for the Detroit Tigers hitters. For the most part, Tigers hitters have killed Cleveland Indians pitching this season, so despite the complications of the double header, Detroit presents some great stacks to daily fantasy baseball owners on Sunday.

As usual, Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera is a great option for daily fantasy owners. He is 5-for-15 (.333) with two doubles in his career versus Indians right-hander Trevor Bauer, who will start the first game Sunday. Against Cleveland’s second starter, Carlos Carrasco, Cabrera has been even better, going 9-for-24 (.375) with a double and homer in his career.
Additionally, Cabrera has just killed Indians pitching this season. He is slashing .483/.551/.776 with five home runs, 17 RBI and 13 runs versus Cleveland in 2015.
In all likelihood, Cabrera is going to be on base a lot Sunday, so it might be wise to also pick up Tigers right fielder J.D. Martinez, who is 5-for-12 (.417) with a homer in his career versus Bauer. Martinez is 6-for-18 with two home runs, two doubles and seven RBI against Carrasco.
With those kind of numbers, Cabrera and Martinez are no brainers, but whether to stack them with No. 2 hitter Ian Kinsler or No. 5 batter Victor Martinez is a bit trickier.
Kinsler is 6-for-17 (.353) with a home run versus Bauer and 7-for-25 (.280) against Carrasco. Meanwhile, V-Mart is 4-for-15 (.267) with a home run against Bauer and 4-for-14 (.286) versus Carrasco.
It’s close, but fantasy owners should rather have Kinsler than V-Mart on Sunday. The second baseman is slashing .359/.386/.578 with eight home runs, 31 RBI and 39 runs since July 9 while V-Mart has struggled with injuries in 2015 and has posted one of his worst statistical years.
If owners are interested in four Tigers players, it wouldn’t be a bad move to grab Detroit hitters No. 2-5, but assuming a three-player stack is the way owners want to go, Kinsler-Cabrera-J.D. Martinez is the best one for Sunday’s double header.
