Detroit Tigers players will be looking to bounce back on Saturday.
After taking the opening game of the series on Thursday, Detroit dropped game two against Anaheim, falling by a final score of 7-0.
The team managed just four hits and a pair of walks on the day, striking out eight times in the process.
Miguel Cabrera, Victor Martinez and J.D. Martinez all collected base knocks, while Justin Upton doubled and drew a walk.
On the pitching side of things, Jordan Zimmermann allowed 10 hits, five runs (four earned), three walks and a home run in just 5.1 innings.
He struck out two before making way for Chad Bell, who allowed just a hit in 1.2 scoreless frames. The rookie also added a strikeout.
Anibal Sanchez finished the game for the Tigers, surrendering three hits, two runs and a home run in an inning of work.
The former Marlins starting pitcher has now appeared in 10 games in 2017. In those 10 contests, he’s allowed at least two runs to score in seven games. Sanchez has also been tagged for at least three runs on six different occasions.
The Tigers will certainly be looking for more offense, especially with J.D. Martinez back in the lineup on a full-time basis.
