Detroit Tigers baseball returns on Friday as the team continues the 2017 regular season at home against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Here’s what you need to know.

Detroit Tigers players will look to rebound with a win on Friday as the team returns home following a series in Texas against the Rangers.

The Tigers lost a fourth consecutive game on Wednesday. Since winning six of seven games in late July and early August, Detroit has won just two of the team’s last 12 games.

Those losses included a 12-6 defeat to close out the Texas series.

Anibal Sanchez departed early due to an injury after completing just 2.1 innings. He was tagged for five hits, four runs, two home runs and a walk against the Rangers.

It would be a long day for the bullpen, as every relief pitcher but Warwick Saupold threw.

Three different relievers—Joe Jimenez, Drew VerHagen and Shane Greene—were tagged for multiple runs each.

Offensively, the Tigers pushed across eight hits, five walks and four runs against Cole Hamels in his six innings of work, but were unable to keep up with Texas’ offense.

All told, Detroit accounted for 11 hits, seven walks, six runs scored and five RBI.
