Third baseman Jeimer Candelario and right fielder Nicholas Castellanos also added a pair of hits each, with Candelario scoring twice and collecting a walk.

On the pitching side of things, Chad Bell got the start and allowed five hits, three walks and two earned runs in 4.2 frames. He struck out five.

Warwick Saupold allowed two runs, while Blaine Hardy was tagged for a run, but Drew VerHagen and Jeff Ferrell both turned in scoreless appearances.
