The Detroit Tigers experimented with starter Daniel Norris yesterday against the Mets. Skipper Ron Gardenhire said that the lefty needed to get out there on the mound and pitch. Despite, putting him in relief Gardenhire maintained that he was a starting pitcher.

Jason Beck, of MLB.com, quoted Gardenhire as saying:

"“We’re just going to use everybody everywhere, but he’s a starting pitcher,” Gardenhire said."

Bless You Boys believes that Norris might be headed to the bullpen. The Tigers actions are speaking louder than their words says, Rob Rogacki.

The Detroit Tigers are rebuilding for the foreseeable future. Lynn Henning, of the Detroit News, writes that skipper Ron Gardenhire had a long and winding road to become the Tigers. The Tigers held open tryouts at spring training recently. Among those who attended were former MLB players including Steve Clevenger.

ESPN recently released their future power rankings. These are rankings based on how ESPN thinks teams will fare over the next five seasons. They put the Tigers at 27th, which means fans will have to be patient according to the Detroit News.

Victor Martinez is playing in his final MLB season. Chris McCosky, of the Detroit News, writes that Martinez is fighting to have a fitting final season.
