The Detroit Tigers battle for the last starting rotation spot is heating up. It’s ultimately down to Mike Fiers and Daniel Norris. Fiers has struggled lately in spring training outings.  Daniel Norris, meanwhile, posted a solid outing in his latest spring training appearance. The Tigers didn’t lose yesterday as they tied the Phillies.

GM Al Avila has even given his opinion on the battle going on for the starting rotation. Chris McCosky writes that Norris has continued to impress with his command on the mound. Blaine Hardy is scheduled to make his debut on Monday as the bullpen race heats up, writes McCosky.

Tigers players are also getting the message to err on the aggression as Miggy was thrown out at home yesterday. The Tigers have added Tiger great Al Kaline as a special guest for the annual outfielder’s dinner.

MLB Trade Rumors gives their offseason review of the Tigers. Per MLB Trade Rumors, the Tigers addressed some needs such as a depleted farm system. Over at the Athletic, Emily Waldon broke down the top ten position prospects to keep an eye on this season.

Also at the Athletic, Eno Sarris thinks that you should keep an eye on Matt Boyd this season. Boyd is one of six AL pitchers to keep an eye on, according to Sarris.

We broke down the top ten strikeout kings in Detroit Tigers history. Only a couple of modern era members on that list as most of the strikeout kings played before 1970. We also broke down our all St. Patty’s Day team in honor of the holiday. The criteria were either native Irishmen or players with the name of Patrick or Green (or Greene).
