Here at The Corner, we round up Detroit Tigers news and rumors around the Tigers blogosphere so that you don’t spend hours surfing the web searching.

The Detroit Tigers had both games of their doubleheader rained out against the New York Yankees. Andy Patton broke down the weekly recap of Tigers baseball. As Bless You Boys points out, there isn’t much baseball being played in Detroit lately thanks to the winter weather.

The Yankees doubleheader is now scheduled for June 4th, the same day as the MLB draft. Evan Woodbery, of MLive, writes that postponing of games is giving the Detroit Tigers more rest than they need or want. The Tigers have played just twelve games so far this season. Ryan Ford, of the Detroit Free Press, writes that the Tigers bats have been as cold as this springs weather.

Nicholas Castellanos has had his fair share of mistakes this season, and he needs to own up to them argues Anthony Fenech. While Castellanos has made some mistakes, things seem to be looking up for JaCoby Jones reports Christopher Milz.

Bartolo Colon pitched a perfect game into the eighth inning last night. Colon is the last active pitcher in baseball who also pitched a game at Old Tiger stadium.

Finally, pitching coach Chris Bosio has been out with health issues. Anthony Fenech points out that the pitching staff has been feeling the absence as of late.
