The wait — and the uncertainty — is finally over.

After months of questions surrounding the collapse of the regional sports network model, the Detroit Tigers officially have a new broadcast home for the 2026 season: Detroit SportsNet. The transition didn’t come easy — or early — but at long last, fans now have a clear roadmap for how to watch all season long.

As RSNs continue to crumble under financial pressure, teams like the Tigers are taking control of their own broadcasts. The result is more direct access for fans, but also more fragmentation in how games are distributed.

Regardless, Opening Day is here. The signal is live. And whether you’re on the couch with a remote or streaming from your phone, there’s a path to watching Tigers baseball in 2026 — even if it takes a little more navigating than before.

Here’s everything you need to know.

How to watch the Tigers on TV in 2026

For fans sticking with traditional cable, Detroit SportsNet is now the primary destination for Tigers baseball in 2026.

The newly launched network has secured carriage deals with major cable providers across Michigan just in time for Opening Day. That means if you have a participating provider, you’ll be able to tune in just like you did with FanDuel Sports Network in previous years — just on a different channel.

Fans in the Detroit market can also watch Tigers games on live TV streaming services such as Fubo, Hulu + Live TV and DirecTV Stream. These platforms are ideal if you want a cable-like bundle without a contract.

Detroit SportsNet will carry approximately 140 Tigers games, and channel numbers will vary by provider and region. The broadcast crew remains unchanged, with Jason Benetti, Dan Dickerson, Andy Dirks and Dan Petry continuing coverage.

This is a major win for fans who prefer the simplicity of flipping on the TV — especially after real concern that negotiations might stretch into the regular season.

How to stream Tigers games without cable in 2026

If you’ve cut the cord — or are thinking about it — Detroit has built a direct-to-consumer option.

Tigers games are now available through a Detroit SportsNet streaming package powered by MLB, accessible via the MLB app and website. A subscription costs $19.99 per month or $189.99 per year and gives fans in-market access to Tigers broadcasts without needing a cable subscription — a significant shift from previous blackout-heavy models.

The streaming package is accessible via smartphones and tablets on the MLB app, Smart TVs (Apple TV, Roku, etc.) and desktop or laptop via browser.

It’s a cleaner, more modern solution — though not without a few quirks. Even with Detroit SportsNet, you won’t get all 162 games in one place. Roughly 16+ games will air nationally on networks like Fox, ESPN, TBS and NBC/Peacock. These games require separate access (either cable login or additional streaming services).

If you were subscribed to FanDuel Sports Network Detroit, Tigers games are no longer available there — you must subscribe separately to Detroit SportsNet. Red Wings games will remain on FanDuel for the remainder of the 2025-26 season before moving to a new platform in 2026-27.

If you live outside the Tigers' home TV territory, you can still watch Tigers games (and out-of-market games for all 30 teams) on MLB.TV.
