It's Opening Day, Detroit Tigers fans! Rejoice!

It's finally here. After a long offseason full of more questions than answers about the future of the franchise, Detroit Tigers baseball is finally back. Today at 3:10 p.m. EDT, the Tigers will take on the Tampa Bay Rays. The game will air on Bally Sports Detroit locally.

This will be the second consecutive year that Eduardo Rodriguez gets the start on the mound for Opening Day. He gets to face a Rays team that he's very familiar with from his time with the Red Sox.

The Rays are countering with LHP Shane McClanahan, who was one of the best pitchers in the American League last season, finishing sixth in AL Cy Young voting. If I had to guess, runs will be at a premium. Both teams would be wise to capitalize on any scoring opportunities since it might the only one they get.

This will also be Miguel Cabrera's final Opening Day and will likely be the beginning of his farewell tour, whether he likes it or not. He's already said he doesn't want anything special during his last year, but you know teams are going to have some kind of gift for him throughout the year.

A quick reminder (and small rant) that there will be no game tomorrow despite the fact that these teams won't have to worry about a rainout today since they will be playing in a dome. I'll never understand why the league schedules Opening Day like that, where teams play their first game then have the next day off. It's very odd and doesn't make a lot of sense.

And with that, baseball season is officially here. The Detroit Tigers likely won't be very good this season, but enjoy the season while it's here. Who knows? Maybe they'll surprise everyone and sneak into the playoffs...ah, who am I kidding?
