Life is good for the Detroit Tigers, who are not only sitting in first place in the American League Central, but enter Wednesday with the best record in Major League Baseball. With the calendar flipped to June, it's clear the Tigers will be buyers at the Major League Baseball Trade Deadline next month.

June is often when baseball insiders begin to set the stage for the deadline, and Jeff Passan's latest intel for ESPN did a tremendous job of defining the market. Passan has the Tigers among the buyers, suggesting that their goal should be "optimize the machine". There's even a suggestion that the Tigers give the Toronto Blue Jays a call and inquire about the status of Bo Bichette.

But the mention of Bichette likely wasn't the only thing that caught the attention of Tigers fans while reading Passan's latest. In true Passan fashion, the baseball insider roasted the Cleveland Guardians like only he can. Passan has the Guardians among the teams he expects to stand pat, while also not believing in the success they've had.

"Their lineup is Swiss cheese. Their defense is middle of the pack. And yet they persist, pesky as ever, buoyed by a bullpen that's been fine enough but nothing like last year," Passan wrote in his teardown of the Guardians' success.

Brutal roast of AL Central rival should have Tigers fans howling

Despite a -17 run differential, the Guardians sit in third place in the American League Central with a record of 32-27. Given that run differential, the expectation is that there will be regression for Cleveland in the months ahead.

Assuming the expected Guardians regression actually arrives, it will only make life easier for the Tigers in the division - especially if they stand pat in July. The Guardians have split their last 10 games, falling to 6.5 games behind the Tigers. The Twins' health may prevent them from catching the Tigers, and the Kansas City Royals' path is through the Wild Card race. The Chicago White Sox, well, we just hope their players are having a good time.

In other words, for Tigers fans, the world is yours.
