The Detroit Tigers desperately need something to go right and soon. Unless they can get back on track against the Guardians on Wednesday night after a brutal loss to open the road series, the AL West title is going to be out of reach in a hurry and making the playoffs at all becomes very sketchy especially if the Astros start playing better. Unfortunately, the weather gods have thrown a wrinkle in the proceedings.

Fans were hoping to see Jack Flaherty take the mound opposite Tanner Bibee in what is likely to be the biggest game of the season for Detroit. Unfortunately, the forecast was never particularly favorable and officials got ahead of things and already made the decision to not try to start the game on time and a rain delay is officially on.

**UPDATE**

Well, as it turns out, the delay won't be as long as initially thought. Unless the forecast changes, it looks like Tigers vs. Guardians will start at around 7:15 PM.

Tigers vs. Guardians Rain Delay, 9/24/25: When will the game get started?

The good news is that they were on top of things and called the rain delay early. That likely means that both Flaherty and Bibee didn't get too far into their warm-ups and they should be able to start the game as planned whenever the rain passes.

As for when that will happen, it is a little sketchy because there is some scatter rain around and it just depends on when the skies decide to be kind. The current word is that the game will happen tonight and the forecast seems to have a good chance of the weather clearing up by around 9 PM. In short, it could be a long wait, but baseball should be happening unless the field gets completely trashed.

We will keep this story updated as more information becomes available as to an exact start time for the game as well as any changes in the forecast. With just how important this series is to both teams, you can expect everyone to do everything in their power to try and get this game in tonight. It is up to Mother Nature to cooperate after that.
