Casey Crosby got the start and pitched four innings. He allowed one run on two hits and four walks while striking out five. Luke Putkonen pitched three innings of relief with one walk and one strikeout. He allowed two unearned runs. Jess Todd struck out one and Matt Hoffman struck out three in one inning of work each.

The Mud Hens are now just 1-7 on the season and haven’t scored more than two runs in their last four games.

A-Advanced — Brevard County 2, Lakeland 0

Brevard County only managed one hit, but they won 2-0 on the strength of two unearned runs. Drew VerHagen pitched six very good innings. He gave up a walk and struck out four, but was saddled with the unearned runs and took the loss. Jade Todd pitched two perfect innings in relief with four strikeouts.

The Flying Tigers recorded six hits and drew three walks, but they couldn’t scratch out a run. Aaron Westlake doubled and walked (his first hit in six games), Chad Wright singled and walked, and Eugenio Suarez, Jeff McVaney, Dean Green, and Jason Krizan each came away with a base hit.

The Flying Tigers are 2-5 on the year.
