When We Last Met

The Texas Rangers jumped on Rick Porcello and the Detroit Tigers on Saturday afternoon, pounding them 12-2 at Comerica Park. It’s been a rough stretch for the Tigers who’ve now lost five of their last six games.

Pitching Matchup

Justin Verlander will be called upon to be the stopper for the Tigers. He struggled his last time out in Cleveland, surrendering five runs in six innings with three walks and only two strikeouts. He didn’t allow a home run, but was peppered with 11 hits.

Colby Lewis will get the start for Texas. The one-time Tiger hasn’t had great results so far this season — a 5.40 ERA in seven starts — but his peripheral numbers look good — an 8.6 K/9 rate and 2.5 BB/9 rate chief among them.
