Miguel Cabrera is not in the Tigers’ lineup this afternoon. He seemed to injure himself while running to third base last night, but it is unclear whether it is am injury or scheduled day off for Miggy. Read more here.

When We Last Met

The Detroit Tigers offense abandoned their struggling ace, Justin Verlander, who pitched his second consecutive quality start, and looked more like his old, Cy Young winning self than he has all season. Though he only gave up two runs, the Tigers’ hitters couldn’t get another run across the plate to give Verlander a shot at the win.

Porcello has had a benchmark season, many thinking he’s finally living up to his potential and it is hard to argue that fact when you look at the stats.
