MLB Power Rankings 2015: Week 7 Detroit Tigers stay at No. 3

As the saying goes, better late than never.

It took MCB an extra day to publish the weekly MLB Power Rankings slideshow. Hopefully nobody was too alarmed that it didn’t come out on its normal morning on Monday.

MCB would like readers to know that these power rankings are based on just one opinion, and the difference of opinion between readers and fans is what makes the power rankings so fun to discuss. Please let us know how we did in the comments section below.

For our list, we took into account record, strength of schedule, run differential and other human elements such as injuries.

That means just because a team is on 8-2 hot streak, they don’t automatically jump to the highest spots. It’s like my high school coach always used to say, “A team is never as good as its best win, and it’s never as bad as it’s worse loss.”

Lastly, readers should know, the rankings are serious, but the comments for each team are not. There are so many baseball articles analyzing the most small details on the web, we wanted to start out the week with a little fun.

Here are MCB’s MLB Power Rankings heading into the seventh week of the 2015 baseball season.

30. Colorado Rockies (13-22)

Maybe Rockies fans would rather it keep snowing. While on their 11-game losing streak, that appeared to be the only way the Rockies wouldn’t lose.

For the Tigers fans who left Comerica Park disappointed on Monday night, at least you guys had the privilege to boo Ryan Braun four times.

27. Texas Rangers (16-22)

Five years ago, Josh Hamilton and Prince Fielder might have been the scariest middle of the order.

26. Philadelphia Phillies (17-23)

Phillies have won six in a row yet are still only in the news for Sean O’Sullivan taking a ball in the Adam’s Apple on the mound.

25. Arizona Diamondbacks (16-21)

The Diamondbacks spoiled Dan Jennings’ Marlins managerial debut on Monday. Still haven’t figured out who that is.

Shelby Miller came within one out of becoming the first Braves pitcher to throw a no-hitter in over 21 years … oh well.

Corey Kluber on Monday: 9 IP, 12 K, 5 hits, 1 ER but no victory. Not even a complete game. It’s been that kind of season for Kluber and the Indians.

Even after Kluber and Chris Sale each allowed only one run on Monday, their added ERA is still a horrible 8.15.
