Detroit Tigers Live Stream vs Cleveland
Detroit Tigers players will look to rebound from a rough loss on Friday as they take on the Cleveland Indians at Comerica Park. Anibal Sanchez will start for the Tigers.
Detroit Tigers fans witnessed a tough defeat in the team’s series opener against Cleveland.Starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann was tagged for nine hits and seven earned runs in only 3.2 innings of work. The Tigers would put four runs on the board, but couldn’t get any closer and lost by a final score of 7-4.
There were positives to be had, mainly that Mike Pelfrey and Mark Lowe combined to allow only three hits and no runs in 5.1 scoreless innings of relief, but Detroit will look to rebound on Saturday.
Anibal Sanchez returns to the rotation after an encouraging stint in the bullpen. After struggling in the rotation, the former Marlin pitched to a 1.86 ERA in 9.2 innings of relief work. He’ll try to replicate that success against Cleveland.
Opposing Sanchez is Carlos Carrasco. The starter has a 2-2 record, a 3.26 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 47 innings pitched this season.
Despite his success this season, a number of Detroit hitters have found success against the starter in the past. Miguel Cabrera is a lifetime .375 hitter versus Carrasco, while Ian Kinsler and Victor Martinez have also done well. Kinsler has seven hits, including three doubles and three RBI, while Martinez has six hits, a pair of doubles and a run batted in.
